Barnaby Weir has played a formative role in some of NZ's most successful music releases; as lead singer of the platinum-selling band The Black Seeds, solo artist Flash Harry, and creator of the beloved musical collective Fly My Pretties which includes a cast of musicians from bands as diverse as Fat Freddy’s Drop, The Phoenix Foundation, Cairo Knife Fight and Paseload.
The Black Seeds’ most recent album ‘Dust and Dirt’ debuted at Number 1 in the New Zealand album charts and won Best Roots Album at the 2012 Vodafone NZ Music Awards. Their song ‘One by One’ was part of the official Breaking Bad official series soundtrack.
Fly My Pretties have enjoyed similar success with platinum album sales and the award for Best Roots Album in 2007. Barnaby is currently producing a debut album for ‘Tunes Of i’ and recently composed and produced the soundtrack for the ‘Berry Boys’ WW1 documentary with Kara Gordon
