Started by APRA AMCOS in 2008, the Children's Music Awards strive to highlight & support the New Zealand Songwriters & Composers that write for our nation's children.

Entries for the 2018 APRA Best Children's Music Song and the 2018 NZ On Air Best Children's Music Video are now closed.

The APRA Best Children's Music Song celebrates the songwriters and composers who write for the children of New Zealand. The winner of the APRA Best Children’s Music Song is awarded a framed certificate and a NZ On Air New Single grant of up to $8,000 to be spent on the production of an original song and/or music video.

The 'Tui' award for Best Children's Music Album is also awarded as a part of the Children's Music Awards. While the award is presented at Children's Day in March, the winner is also acknowledged as a part of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards in November each year.

The NZ On Air Best Children’s Music Video celebrates the songwriters, composers and video makers who have made a music video for New Zealand children. All entries are judged by an independent judging panel that have been chosen on their expertise on children’s music and eye for quality and innovative video production. The winner receives a $500 cash prize and a framed certificate.
