Kiwi Music Royalty Ray Columbus Has Passed Away

It is with huge sadness that we learn of Ray Columbus’ passing after a brave and lengthy battle with illness.

“He remains an icon of New Zealand and New Zealand music. He was a pioneer, an artist, and a champion. A true star. He was the Modfather in every sense of the word.

"As successful as he was himself as an artist, he never stopped helping and mentoring those around him, particularly young artists and songwriters. He served on the board of APRA for more than two decades in the 1970's and 80's representing NZ songwriter’s here, in Australia, and around the world with passion and dedication. We will miss him dearly.”

- APRA Head of New Zealand Operations Anthony Healey.

Rest in peace Ray.
