XXMT - Symposium for Women & Music Technology

On Saturday 28 October, the New Zealand School of Music at Victoria University in Wellington are hosting a one-day event of workshops, seminars and performances that aims to highlight, support and encourage women working in music technology.
Everyone welcome—emerging practitioners, supporters, experts and all genders.

Here is the timetable:

10am—1pm | Arduino workshop: Build your own Arduino circuit with Sasha Leitman, PhD candidate at Victoria University of Wellington.

14:00     presentations (SU310, Student Union building) by 
- Estère | electronic musician, artist, producer
- Bridget Johnson | sound artist, Music Technology Lecturer and Major Coordinator at College of Creative Arts Toi Rauwharangi at Massey University 
- Sally Jane Norman | artist, Director and Professor at New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī at Victoria University of Wellington.

15:30     film screening of ‘A Life in Waves’ (SU310, Student Union building), a documentary that explores the life and innovations of electronic music pioneer, Suzanne Ciani.

17:00     panel discussion (Adam Art Gallery) chaired by Anne Niemetz | media artist, senior lecturer at the School of Design at Victoria University of Wellington.

18:00     drinks and nibbles (Adam Art Gallery)

19:00     performances (SU310, Student Union building) by Flo Wilson, EDIE, Embedded Figures, Blaek, and visuals by Lady Lazer Light

20:30     end
