Louis Baker is nominated as a finalist in the folk singer/songwriter category for Rainbow, by Louis Baker and Brad Ellis (Wellington, NZ)

We do love a shortlist around here. Or, in the case of the prestigious International Songwriting Competition, a Finalists lists, especially one that boasts 33 entries from Aussie and New Zealand songwriters. With a hefty prize pool of cash and songwriting necessities for the Grand Prize winner on down through the genre categories, ISC is always a special one in the song comp calendar.

Songwriters from this region have a history of success in this prestigious competition, with Vance Joy having taken out the grand prize in 2014. Other previous winners include Gotye, KimbraMissy Higgins, Matt Corby, David Le'aupepe, Kasey Chambers, Gin Wigmore, Flight Facilities, Augie March, Guy Sebastian, Sarah Blasko, Troy Cassar-Daley, Kate Miller-Heidke, Jebediah and many more.
