Who can join?
Anyone who is a songwriter or composer whose music has been performed or communicated to the public.

What is the fee to join?
There is no application fee.

What does an applicant need to complete the form?

• An email address. If you don’t have one, please contact our Writer Services team at tel 1800 642 634.
• Personal and business information about yourself and your activities as a songwriter, composer, or music publisher.
• ABN or IRD for a sole trader.
• Bank Account details.
• Details so that we can identify and allocate royalties to one of your original works: title, duration, songwriter names, roles, and percentages and how it is performed, communicated, and/or recorded.
• You will only need to give us this information once. If you choose to appoint APRA AMCOS to administer both your public performance (APRA) and reproduction rights (AMCOS), we will use the information to consider your application for both sets. If your application is for one set of rights, you can use this information again when appointing.

How is an applicant’s information used?
APRA AMCOS respects your privacy. The information provided to us in this online application will only be used in the ways disclosed in our Privacy Policy.

Can I change my mind?
You can. There are various options for APRA and AMCOS members to licence-back and opt-out for certain music usages in certain territories. Find out more or contact Writer Services to further discuss.

Verifying your information
Because we take copyright very seriously, you may be asked to verify the information you provide here, including dates and venues of individual performances, in the form of a statutory declaration. APRA AMCOS may also make enquiries to verify the information.
