MusicHelps Overseas Emergency Grants

Today MusicHelps have announced that they're making 40 x $500 grants available to kiwi music workers who are currently overseas, but who are still tax resident in NZ and have an active NZ bank account.

They will be open for applications at NZT 12 noon next Monday June 29 at

APRA members eligible for the grant will need to declare that they:

- have not previously received an emergency grant from MusicHelps

- have worked for pay in the production or performance of music recordings and/or live music events, for at least 2 years, or the majority of their working life

- can provide the names and contact details of two professional referees (not family or friends) and their APRA number

- can show that they have lost music-related income as a result of the COVID-19 crisis

- are a New Zealand citizen or hold permanent resident status in New Zealand

- are resident for tax purposes in New Zealand

- have an active NZ bank account

- are not currently living in New Zealand

Note that MusicHelps only require applicants to self-declare that they qualify by ticking a checkbox. The application doesn't ask you to provide passports, receipts, supporting evidence or anything like that.
